William Thomas Bulmer

William Bulmer was born at Baxters Yard, Market Place, Ripon, the son of a tailor Henry Bulmer and his wife Mary Ann who had married at Sowerby. There are no further records of William until he married Lilian Pitts on 5th August 1902 at York Register Office. They moved to Burnley where they lived at 5 Mill Street, Colne while William worked as a bricklayer. They had seven children born 1902 - 1917 namely: Ellen, William, Ernest, Arthur, Oliver, Annie Mary and Edmond.

William enlisted into the 2nd Bn. East Lancashire Regiment at Colne and he died of wounds on 31st March 1918. His remains lie at Moreuil Communal Cemetery, Somme, plot D.16.
